Depression is one of the most frequently occurring emotions. Everyone suffers from it and it is perfectly normal. There comes a point in everyone’s life when depression settles in. At times, there seems to be no escape from it. If we let depression take over us from every angle, things can get complex. Therefore, one must be able fight their way out of it.
However, it is not an easy task to beat depression. For instance, one day you might feel optimistic about things, and the next minute you might plunge into depression all over again. One must make sure on avoiding depression from becoming a vicious cycle, because it becomes really difficult to escape from it.

Here, you become the suffering prisoner because you are constantly being tortured. Similarly, you are also the cruel jailer because you yourself are the one inflicting torture on yourself.
It is a good thing to remind yourself to keep smiling, no matter how life treats you. Sorrow, or no sorrow; a smile is a cure to every hurdle. The plus point is that a simple smile is pain free, and the least troublesome to fight your depression. Beautifully put by Thich Nhat Hanh, “Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy.”
Last but not the least, Helen Keller provides us with a positive outlook to life by saying, “Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.” There is a remedy to every problem, to every difficulty, and to every suffering in the world. The only thing that matters is your point of view on it. Furthermore, sometimes it is helpful to look at others’ problems. Looking at their dilemmas is a nice way to combat one’s own depression.
