Women’s empowerment means that women have the ability and right to fully participate economically, socially, culturally and politically without being discriminated on basis of their gender. We have made a long way in promoting women’s right.

In the past decades, women have spread their wings and have made tremendous progress. Success of various women as head of states or CEOs of companies has proved that women, given the freedom and trust, can be equal or even better than men. However, many women are still target of the society. In various parts of the world, women are either glorified as being good wives and mothers, or they are being characterized as the “Inferior sex” who are physically and mentally ill.

Based on the facts above, we can safely proclaim that women are not treated equal to men, therefore women’s empowerment becomes more important In our times. Hence to celebrate the rights of women, Women’s Day is very important. Not only on this day, but year round we should examine the status of women in our society and make sure that everyone independent of gender and race is contributing to the richness of our society.
